  • Oversee and help coordinate the safety and health aspects for employees and subcontractors onsite
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA/OSHA and state regulations
  • Facilitating HS&E related training (e.g. new hire orientations)
  • Assist the Project Manager with incident investigations, site and regulatory agency inspections
  • Maintain a good working relationship with project clients and customers
  • Record keeping, auditing, and trending of data, while maintaining visible leadership in the field
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years practical experience in the Mining industry as a HS&E professional
  • A thorough understanding and practical experience with MSHA regulations, documentation, and MSHA 30 CFR
  • The ability to effectively communicate and present information to the hourly workforce, while also effectively interacting with project management staff, clients, and customers
  • Excellent verbal, written communications, and computer skills
  • The ability to provide a proactive approach to safety, to include identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as develop and implement strategies to solve them
  • An MSHA Instructors certification (blue card) is considered an asset
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements
