- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate a variety of engaging programs and initiatives that align with Hillel's mission, vision, and values.
- Ensure all aspects of programming run smoothly from logistics to content and reflect our broader programmatic vision.
- Coordinate program publicity by managing official social media accounts (including Instagram, Facebook, and potentially TikTok), creating promotional graphics and flyers, and supporting student-driven word-of-mouth outreach.
- Manage and track program budgets, including general programming funds and grant-specific allocations.
- Support student leadership by recruiting, onboarding, training, supervising, and evaluating Hillel interns and the Hillel Student Board, a registered student organization at UC Davis.
- Serve as a Jewish role model and resource for students and campus groups, while supporting student-initiated programs and ideas.
- Identify uninvolved or under-engaged student populations and implement creative strategies to build meaningful connections.
- Represent Hillel in collaboration with students on campus and build relationships within the broader university and local community.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director and Development Manager to identify, prepare, submit, and track grant proposals, with a focus on programmatic initiatives such as Hillel International Micro Grants and Interfaith America.
- Assist the Development Manager with fundraising efforts, including campaigns like Giving Tuesday and Hillel Global Giving Week, as well as donor outreach for program sponsorship (e.g., Shabbat, Jewish Learning Fellowship).
- Serve as a liaison to the local Jewish community and university organizations, facilitating collaboration on joint initiatives with groups such as the University Religious Council, Interfaith Campus Council, Jewish young adult organizations, synagogues, and more.
- Facilitate a brainstorming session with student leaders to develop creative ways to engage new students.
- Meet with your Communications Intern to strategize outreach efforts and provide mentorship.
- Manage and update Hillel's social media platforms to promote events and celebrate community moments.
- Collaborate with your colleagues on the programming team to generate exciting ideas and ensure cohesive programming.
- Have coffee chat with a student who has expressed interest in becoming more involved.
- Attend or help plan an event that builds Jewish community at UC Davis.
- Research and apply for new grants to support innovative programming.
- Log student interactions and event data into HEaRT to track engagement and inform future outreach.
- A bachelor's degree.
- Professional experience in Jewish, experiential, or higher education, with a strong background of student engagement.
- Demonstrated success in program development, leadership training, and relationship-building.
- Passion for working in the Jewish community and/or with college students.
- The ability to work independently, and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment where prioritizing, organization, and attention to detail are essential.
- Creativity, flexibility, initiative, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- A serious work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to take risks and learn from unexpected situations.
- A commitment to pluralism and a comfort with your own Jewish identity to act as a role model and mentor for emerging Jewish adults.

- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $45,000 to $52,000.
