- This qualified professional executes defined Occupational Health Nursing (OHN) responsibilities including providing clinical care, promoting & preventing disease, complying with work-related regulatory requirements.
- This position is responsible for managing the Employee Health department and to provide treatment and follow up care for injured employees.
- Develop, implement, sustain, and execute wellness programs.
- Coordinate Worker's Compensation and Disability Case Management.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures.
- Utilizes & documents nursing process in care management.
- Assesses, diagnoses & treats clients consistent with appropriate standards & laws.
- Uses & maintains accurate, complete recordkeeping systems & maintains employee confidentiality.
- Conducts thorough & objective assessment of client's status & case management needs.
- Maintains contact with internal & external OHNs and community health care professionals.
- Establishes & maintains communication with employees, management & colleagues to accomplish OH, safety & environmental programs.
- Coordinates employee health screenings & the medical surveillance programs.
- Utilizes adult learning approaches in health education & training programs.
- Counsels clients on occupational, EHS&S risks & hazards
- Utilizes knowledge of current laws, regulations & standards governing employee, work site & EHS&S to achieve compliance.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
- Supports ergonomic assessments and related corrective action plans
- Directs and manages the emergency response team.
- Manages specific compliance standard: Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, Respiratory Response, Hearing, PPE, etc.
- Attend various business meetings and conduct presentations for the EHS&S.
- Manages budget for Occ. Health Station area.
- Directs and manages site wellness team.
- Oversees the Fitness Center
- Minimum 5 years experience in Occupational Health or Community Health (Hospital, Emergency Room, Occ. Health Wellness, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid knowledge of Occupational Health, and excellent computer skills required.
- The ability to perform independently, interact well with all levels of employees and make well-informed decisions is required.
- This position is accountable for the appropriate medical treatment of employees reporting to Employee Health seeking treatment.
- Accountable for accurate and timely completion of worker's compensation claims and all aspects of Disability Case Management.
- Accountable for maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of all employee medical records. Works with limited supervision, acts as member of project team.
