This role reports to Vanity Fair’s Director of Social Media and will work closely with editorial, video, analytics, legal, research, and commercial teams. Along with a passion for storytelling, obsessive knowledge of entertainment, news, and pop culture, and attention to detail, the candidate should have experience with social media trends and platforms. This role is intended for someone with strong writing skills, experience in developing social video and live events coverage, and enthusiasm about joining a leading cultural brand. This is an in-office role based in New York City.Primary Responsibilities:Work closely with editorial leadership, video, audience development, and social media colleagues to develop and execute creative and strategic programming for the brand’s social channels that meet the editorial and revenue goals of the brandHandle day-to-day writing, editing, posting, and optimization of content on multiple social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Facebook, Reddit, and moreDevelop and refine the brand’s editorial voice across platformsWork closely with editorial stakeholders to roll out daily and evergreen content across socialAssist with regular live events coverage and social video creation, including possibly acting as an on-camera face of Vanity Fair on social platforms across the brand’s tentpole events, including Hollywood Issue, the VF Oscar Party, and other awards showsWork with sales to conceptualize social sponsorship packages and execute delivery on those sponsorships via social platformsBuild creative assets across platforms, including for Instagram Stories, and track performanceManage social swaps with internal Conde Nast brands as well as external partnersReport on content performance and effectively present social insights, optimizations and best practices for the brand’s digital team and central stakeholdersExplore and identify new platforms that align with the brand’s target audiences to grow traffic, engagement, and revenueCollaborate with global social strategy team and contribute thoughtfully to developing the brand’s social strategy around the worldRequirements:A minimum requirement of 3+ years of social media experienceStrong knowledge of the social media space and an eye for developments and changes in the marketplaceExcellent editorial judgement, writing skills, and ability to capture brand voice to reach new and established audiencesProven experience hitting key social metricsA knowledge of social analytics tools and social schedulingConfident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced media environmentExcellent organizational skills, focus, and attention to detailThe expected base salary range for this position is from $80,000-$90,000.
