
Project Test Engineer

- Direct lab personnel during the setup and execution of tests.
- Set up and operate testing equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Conduct a range of tests, including short-circuit tests, dielectric tests, partial discharge tests, impulse tests, insulation resistance tests, and power frequency tests, in accordance with requirements provided in industry standards and S&C's internal standards.
- Accurately collect test data and measurements during testing. Analyze and interpret test results using statistical methods and engineering tools to draw meaningful conclusions and make data-driven recommendations.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing. Apply standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problems. Collaborate with the other teams to develop solutions and improvements.
- Prepare detailed test reports, including methodology, results, and analysis. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality management systems.
- Support maintenance of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability in testing.
- Create and maintain drawings and documentation related to the lab's processes, including but not limited to test reports, specifications, and user manuals.
- 4+ years of experience in electrical testing, or a related field.
- Sound understanding of electrical engineering principles, high-voltage testing methods, and safety practices.
- Proficient in data analysis and statistical evaluation methods, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Sound programming skills with languages like Visual Basic, MATLAB, and LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
- Great verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous approach to testing, data collection, and documentation to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work in a team environment, contribute ideas, and support team goals.
- Ability to effectively train and mentor team members.
- Adherence to safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Proficient with relevant lab instrumentation, scopes, DMMs, high-voltage, and high-current measurements
- Knowledge of IEEE and IEC switchgear standards.
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
