Certerra is a consulting firm offering professional services in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, special inspection, materials testing, nondestructive testing and welding inspection.We have an immediate full-time opportunity for an ICC Special Inspector to be a part of a highly skilled team of special inspectors and subject matter expert consultants in both our Reno and Carson City NV offices. Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years’ experience in special inspection and/or construction materials testing with at least one current ICC certification.Routine duties include on site observations / inspections to confirm compliance with the local building code and project contract documents, collecting samples, performing specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components per ASTM, ACI, NAQTC etc., standards, and compiling detailed records of observations, inspections and test results. Work is generally performed unsupervised (i.e., the employee is in the field as the Company’s representative) but under the direction of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to grow and excel with a well-established organization. Black Eagle will provide training and mentoring to help develop successful candidates in obtaining additional certifications and valuable skills necessary for growth.Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Education:
  • ICC certifications in at least one of the following areas – Soils, Structural Concrete, Post-Tension/ Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Fireproofing
  • ACI Field Grade 1/ NAQTC
  • 2+ years’ experience performing multi-discipline special inspections & tests
  • The ability to read and comprehend plans & specifications
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Valid State driver’s license with clean driving record
