Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details
- Location: Brownwood, TX 76801 (Texas travel nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Community Hospital Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/29/2025 End: 12/29/2025)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1630 - $1750
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 38 beds, average daily census 35
- Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and more
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state, must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association preferred)
- Experience with hospital charting systems (Altera experience preferred)
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 5-6
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must be able to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients (adolescents, adults, geriatrics)
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Administer blood products, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Perform central line and PICC line management, chest tube care, and wound care
- Manage feeding tubes, oxygen delivery systems, and non-invasive airway management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize rapid response teams as needed
- Accurately document patient care using hospital charting systems
- Float to similar nursing units as required
