Provides and integrates clinical leadership and management of patient care, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, department of nursing, and clinical service; develops and sustains an environment of excellence in patient / family service, growth and development of staff, and application of evidenced-based practice. The supervisor contributes with leadership to enhance patient experience, quality outcomes, nurse retention and recruitment, staff scheduling, and financial stewardship. The supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring unit compliance for all regulatory patient care standards.Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to achieve optimal patient care outcomes and to further the goals of the institution. Accomplish team human resource objectives by assisting with selecting, orienting, educating, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling staff with Practice Manager, communicating job expectations, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures continual delivery of high-quality clinical care in collaboration with all clinical team members (RN's, LPN's, and MA's). Enforce adherence to licensure requirements

  • Ensures adequate staffing throughout the clinics and sites, and staff as needed in the needed clinical role
  • Assures compliance with standards and regulations promulgated by all applicable agencies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by implementing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Collects, analyzes and uses data to drive practice changes that integrate quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity metrics for excellent patient and nursing outcomes along with the Practice Manager.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Current NYS RN license
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience
  • BLS, ACLS within 6 months
Physical Requirements:
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
