
Field & Technical Support Technician

- Communicate with customers, representatives or service technicians via telephone concerning product and service issues. Troubleshoots all service-related customer issues.
- Subject matter expert on heat pumps and refrigeration systems. Assist Aftermarket Technical Services group in training and troubleshooting heat pump products.
- Visit customers as required to provide on-site troubleshooting of product or service problems.
- Support as needed ongoing development trainings both onsite and external.
- Be able to provide training to any technician that will be working on equipment. Reps, Contractors, Maintenance and end users. Internal or External.
- Support creation of all technical service procedures and bulletin documentation.
- Assist in maintaining Operations and Maintenance manuals.
- Support development of preventative maintenance procedures.
- Act as a liaison between technical service and engineering as new troubleshooting requirements become necessary.
- Participate on cross-functional, new product and problem-solving teams as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Uphold company interest and products when interacting with reps, contractors and end users
- Travel with and maintain a company tool kit. Current kit is 80lb
- BA/BS degree (preferred, not required).
- Previous field experience in the service, repair & troubleshooting of HVAC refrigerant systems, heating and domestic water heating industry required.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, communications, controls and hardware.
- Knowledge of installation, operation and maintenance requirements with steam and gas fired equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge in safety handling and working with high voltage, high pressure, and commercial hydronic systems.
- Must be willing to travel minimum 35%, occasionally with short notice.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing heat pumps or refrigeration systems
- Experience with natural refrigerants a plus
- EPA Section 608 Refrigeration Technician Certification required, Type II or Universal preferred
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle heavy call volume when required.
- Self-starter, takes ownership of process
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office
- Office environment, manufacturing floor, construction and mechanical room or roof environments
- Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
- Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required when onsite or in the factory.
