
New Product Development Manager

- Manage projects, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Supervise responsibilities and activities of direct reports.
- Develop product and production process requirements and standards.
- Prepare documentation packages for new and modified products and processes.
- Research suppliers and new sources of products, materials, equipment, and components.
- Design improvements to products and processes.
- Interpret customer, agency, and market requirements to define design specifications.
- Prepare technical briefs and support literature for products.
- Create prototype design packages and collaborate with design, manufacturing, production, and quality teams.
- Develop prototype and pre-production build schedules and align resources accordingly.
- Perform product, process, and system audits, maintain logs, and analyze data.
- Analyze failed or returned materials and assist in developing corrective actions.
- Assist with determining disposal of non-conforming products and components.
- Evaluate yield, performance, and statistical data for trends and develop improvements.
- Actively develop employees through coaching, feedback, and training.
- Develop training tools and programs for new employees.
- Understand and clarify customers' needs and provide product application support.
- Provide support to production staff with manufacturing processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
- Minimum 10 years’ job-related experience (flexible based on company and responsibilities).
- Project management experience and supervisory training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and Internet access software programs such as Smartsheet.
- Familiarity with Business and ERP systems.
- Understanding of CNC machining center functions and material properties.
- Familiarity with Lean, DFT, ISO, and DFM Quality principles.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team leader in a team-based organizational environment.
- Practical application of manufacturing test equipment.
- Great communication skills and ability to work directly with clients.
- Leadership skills with experience in managing process, operations, deadlines, and audits.
- Experience in new product development and operations management.
- Industrial and electrical engineering knowledge.
- Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
