Run what runs the worldThis Position reports to: Commissioning Service ManagerThe Energy Industries Division serves a wide range of industrial sectors, including hydrocarbons, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation and water. Harnessing data, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), the Division brings over 50 years of domain expertise delivering solutions designed to improve energy, process and production efficiency, as well as reduce risk, operational cost and capital cost, while minimizing waste for customers, from project start-up and throughout the entire plant lifecycle.In this role you will be responsible for Turbine Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service.Turbine Specialist’s perform service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality service.As a Turbine Specialist, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team based on customer/contract requirements.Your responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret turbine engineering drawings and schematics, both electrical and mechanic, and troubleshoot and repair failed turbine equipment
  • Conduct complex field technical assignments with minimal professional guidance involving installation, commissioning, modifying, testing, inspecting and repairing ABB turbine products and equipment (including centrifugal type process compressors & compressor drives Gas Turbines and programming)
  • Ensure ABB meets customer commitments and expectations and recommend measures to improve operations and customer service
  • Respond to customer questions, issues, and inquiries with accuracy and timeliness. Maintain a follow-up system with customers to ensure the technical advice provided was effective
Your Background:
  • High School Diploma or GED/Associate's Degree and 2+ years of working experience with Gas/Steam Turbines
  • Up to 75% travel (domestic and international and includes weekends and holidays) required
  • Work Remotely from anywhere in the USA
  • A demonstrated commitment to excellence, effective communication, problem solving, teamwork, technical orientation, customer focus, and a professional attitude
  • Applicants must speak fluent English, have a legal driver’s license, and have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
