Job Description:The primary focus of this position is to provide our underwriting team an understanding of a client's operations and to counsel clients on best practices related to their existing operations and programs (employee safety, fleet, facility maintenance, business continuation, products safety, etc.). The individual will assist clients with identifying hazards within their facilities and, as appropriate, provide recommendations for improved practices. The individual will also discuss and provide Chubb's Risk Engineering services to support a client needs and/or improve the account's loss history (i.e. business continuation planning, employee safety training, safety committee support, product safety review and evaluate building fire protection systems). On-site visits and virtual assessments with existing and prospective customers will be conducted and comprehensive reports will be completed that evaluate hazards and controls for adequate risk selection, pricing, and application of underwriting techniques leading to profitable growth.Day to day activities will include scheduling client visits/virtual meetings, processing client correspondence and inquiries, report completion and recommendation follow-up and coordination with claims and underwriting partners to insure we exceed service expectations and consistently support satisfactory risk selection and client retention.Occasional travel can be required throughout the region as business needs warrant. Overnight travel is minimal and may be required approximately 2-5 nights per year.Qualifications:Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Five years or more of experience in property, casualty, and worker's compensation insurance risk management and loss prevention functions, primarily focused on evaluating hazards and controls.
  • Strong proficiency in hazard identification and understanding of safety controls, with an emphasis in Property, General Liability, Commercial Automobile & Worker's Compensation coverages.
  • Counseling and providing presentations to existing customers on a variety of insurance related topics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient customer interviewing techniques and technical report writing ability.
  • Initiative, effective time management and ability to function both independently and as an integral team member.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites to include Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong background and knowledge in Fire Protection is highly desired.
Education and Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Safety & Health, Biology, Chemistry related degrees, or relative work experience in the risk control/loss control field.
  • Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as CSP, CFPS, CIH, AOEE or ARM is highly desirable.

The pay range for the role is $80,500 to $137,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found .
