SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc., via its wholly owned Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc. (GO) subsidiary business unit, is seeking a trained Aerospace Technician (Aircraft & Powerplant Mechanic) to support integration and manufacturing of high-speed flight systems. The position is full-time and is located at our facilities in Atlanta, GA. Due to the nature of our business, and the contracts we have with the US Government, we can only hire US Citizens.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Aerospace Technician will contribute to a team of engineers in support of our X-60A research testbed and future GO flight systems. The Technician will work within a small team to support the integration, testing, and launch operations of small launch products, including X-60A. The position entails intricate hands-on work with aluminum welding, metal fabrication, assembly and integration of aerospace hardware, inventory management and control, and carefully writing and executing work orders and other documentation. The position demands the utmost accountability, judgment, and ownership of responsibility.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assembly of rocket components including structures, propulsion, and control mechanisms
  • Welding of aluminum structures, including pressure vessels
  • Integration and testing subcomponents (valves, manifolds, regulators, orifices, tubing, etc.)
  • Inventory management and control
  • Assemble components using hand tools
  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • Tube bending and leak checking
  • Interface with engineers to develop and execute work orders
  • Provide feedback on integration and test to improve processes and designs
  • Inspect and test manufactured components and subassemblies
  • Support acceptance and qualification testing
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A&P technical training (Aircraft & Powerplant)
  • Experience with shop tools such as drill press, mill, lathe, etc.
  • Welding experience with aluminum structures
  • Familiarity with shop assurance practices for high-reliability systems (aerospace, automotive, etc.)
  • Inventory management and control
  • Experience operating a forklift
  • Ability to obtain and hold a DoD Security Clearance
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in open, collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be comfortable operating basic Microsoft Office programs
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ Years in a relevant aerospace industry A&P Technician position
  • Prior experience with supersonic or hypersonic flight systems, missiles, or rockets
  • An Associates Degree
  • AMT Certification
  • Welding Certification
  • Existing DoD Security Clearance
  • Avionics experience
  • Experience using inventory management programs such as Fishbowl Inventory Management
