- Supports administration needs for the HR department.
- Support recruitment and retention activities for hourly and salaried employees. Create job postings, schedule interviews, create job offers, initiate and monitor background checks, schedule pre-placement physicals and drug screens, maintain recruitment and employment files, onboard new hires, support ongoing training and development activities.
- Provide HRIS and HR system support including new hire conversion, Paid time off administration, Short Term Disability and Family Medical Leave administration, HRIS interface administration.
- Support teambuilding activities and employee communications, for onsite events, service / diamond award distribution, TV system messaging.
- Supports several areas of HR compliance, including monthly HR reporting, Affirmative Action Plan reporting, Performance Management communications, HRIS/employment processing, unemployment claim administration, file maintenance and storage,
- Coordinate with payroll for referral and signing bonus administration, scheduled salary increases and various other HR related payments.
- Responsible for supporting HR projects, such as: handbook and policy updates, development of a learning matrix, updating job descriptions, apprenticeship program related activities, general benefit administration, annual wellness activities, Howmet Foundation activities.
- Responsible for preparing various ad hoc reports and metrics.
- Support the implementation of strategic HR programs and communications.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and practices, as well as compliance to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Ensure all activities are strategic and in compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity policies and practices.
- Ensure positive organizational development by leveraging best practices and change management techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year of experience in human resources
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- 1+ years of experience recruiting for a manufacturing or production work force
- 1+ years of experience with HR information systems and/or Oracle.
