  • The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
  • This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
  • Will additionally participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing when assigned.
QualificationsJob RequirementsAssociate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies, or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree.ASCP or equivalent.Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.If certification does lapse, the job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Technician (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.Pay Range Minimum: $23.35/Hr.Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
