We are seeking a hardworking Mill Clean Up Worker for a Temp-Hire position to assist with a variety of clean-up and utility responsibilities at a local lumber mill in Springfield.
As a Mill Clean Up Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Sweep, shovel, and vacuum wood chips, sawdust, glue drips, and other debris
- Keep production areas clean and free of obstructions
- Clean around machinery, workstations, catwalks, and conveyors
- Collect, sort, and dispose of scrap wood, rejected materials, and waste glue
- Empty garbage bins and dust collectors regularly
- Assist machine operators by clearing James or delivering materials
- Assisting in other areas of the lumber mill or facility as needed
- This is a physical job, that involves bending, kneeling, stooping and twisting
- 2+ years of work experience in a production experience in a manufacturing facility preferred
- 1+ year of experience in wood manufacturing preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
- Practice consistent and robust safety policies.
- Great aptitude for learning machinery that is used in wood processing and production.
- Previous experience using skill saws, hand, and power tools.
- Can stand, stoop, bend, push and pull for an 8-to-10-hour shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. to 75 lbs. on a semi-consistent basis.
- Have great work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.
