Career growth opportunity plus training and education assistance.The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Mine Supervisor to manage and deliver mining crew assignments and provide leadership to employees in order to meet production goals in a safe and efficient manner. This position will be located at Boss, MO.Education & Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an underground mine environment.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid, current driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient knowledge of ore extraction and mining process methods.
  • Proficient knowledge of MSHA mine safety laws.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and corrective action to employees in a timely manner.
  • Determine, assign, and follow-up on shift assignments.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including but not limited to time sheets, production reports, work area inspections, equipment pre-shifts, and 5000-23 task training documents.
  • Monitor employees and work areas to ensure the safety of the employees and equipment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Geology Department to keep working faces moving for maximum ore grade output.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Maintenance Department concerning daily equipment needs.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of utilities infrastructure, including power lines, air and water lines, roads, and mine pumps.
  • Partner with other mine leadership and supervision to facilitate optimum performance.
  • Ensure direct reports handle hazardous waste in accordance with all trainings and regulations.
  • Maintain EHS (environmental, health and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment, Physical & Lifting:
  • Regularly required to work underground and in confined spaces, Frequently exposed to wet, humid (non-weather) conditions. Occasionally required to work in confined spaces, near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to extreme heat (non-weather) and extreme cold (non-weather), exposed to vibration; Rarely required to work near moving parts, wear a respirator, and work at heights of 4’ or more with fall protection. May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk and hear; Frequently required to drive; Occasionally required to grasp, push, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance, to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, ability to distinguish colors, and three-dimensional vision.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally required to lift 26-50 pounds, rarely required to lift 51-100 pounds.
