- Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goals on a daily basis.
- Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
- Actively participates in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval.
- Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up.
- Maintains highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
- Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility.
- Successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards.
- Performs daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation.
- As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving.
- Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility
- Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identified and participates in problem solving.
- Ensures compliance to quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
- Reviews, understands, and complies with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI).
- Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary.
- Capable of performing functional tasks of perquisite Maintenance Tech level(s), as applicable.
- Install/troubleshoot with Rockwell software (Studio5000, Rslogix 5000, Rslinx, connected components, FactoryTalk View ME) .
- Train staff on control systems operations and safety procedures
- Manage emergency or unplanned repair services to control systems
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement control systems
- Perform regular system updates and software upgrades
- Monitor the performance of control systems to ensure their efficiency and reliability
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with control systems
- Recommend modifications or improvements for control systems
- Evaluates and identifies potential problems, repairs and maintenance electrical/mechanical machinery and plant equipment.
- Evaluates and identifies potential problem, repairs and maintains electrical systems inside and outside of the plant.
- Maintains preventative maintenance assignments, daily work orders and logs and all other required records.
- Involved with all major project improvements.
- Provides support with/without the support from direct supervision at times.
- Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools and good math skills are required.
- Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required, Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools are required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
- Proven work experience as a Control Systems Technician or similar role.
- Ability to read and understand control system blueprints and schematics.
- PLC and computer skills required.
