Aligns with HR to support the Talent Strategy and develop employees at all levels to operate as a high-performance culture. Leads the design, development, and implementation of programs and strategies to fulfill organizational development needs and achieve program objectives. Accountable for training effectiveness and delivery of quality learning and development experiences. Recommends and creates effective development programs and learning solutions that drive needed skill, behavior, and performance change in their audience, using contemporary techniques. This role leads value stream work and is responsible for the tangible business outcomes of the delivered solutions. This role will lead a small team.Essential Job FunctionsLeads the effective implementation or ongoing delivery of learning and development solutions. This may include providing expert facilitation or upskilling others to deliver these solutions by identifying appropriate subject matter experts to act as learning leaders, conducting train-the-trainers, observing delivery of programs, and providing coaching and feedback to the learning leaders. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of learning and development solutions by measuring against established success metrics, effort, and impact. Makes recommendations on how to scale or improve solutions based on data insights gained from feedback and program performance. Acts as a consultative partner with human resources and business leaders, conducts need analysis and assessments to understand needs, and provides recommendations to enhance employee, leadership, or team effectiveness and drive improved performance or business results. Scopes business requirements and constraints and establishes clear measurements of success. Promotes collaboration and strategic partnerships across value streams that may contribute to or would be impacted by proposed solutions. Rapidly prototypes, refines, and deploys at scale. Designs, develops and recommends cutting edge learning and development solutions that address business needs efficiently and align to strategic priorities. Ingrains development into the flow of work to build and reinforce our learning culture. Leverages solutions including but not limited to collaboration, communities, social media, curation, and expert shares. Modernizes our learning techniques to include AI, microlearning, and other cutting edge technologies along with traditional learning solutions to create high-impact, low investment solutions that maximize the return on investment.Physical ActionsJob is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and/or places objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred in organizational development, organizational psychology, human resources, or a business-related discipline. Masters degree preferred in organizational psychology, organizational development, or business administration.Experience RequirementsMinimum seven years of applicable, formal instructional design experience with a focus on leadership and management development. Minimum (5) years in organizational development directly related to leadership and professional development. Certification and experience in instructional design and content authoring tools - preferred. Certification and experience in delivering leadership and professional development programs - preferred. Certification and experience in administering and/or providing coaching feedback on talent assessments - preferred.Special Skill RequirementContent authoring tools - preferredAdditional QualificationDemonstrated project management skills. Experience with emerging modalities. Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty. Extensive knowledge of skills development and capacity-building strategies.
