- High School degree required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of at least two (2) years of related Patient Scheduling experience with sufficient knowledge to coordinate a variety of procedures and exams.
- Medical Terminology.
- Strong Customer Service Expertise.
- Organizational skills.
- Medical Terminology knowledge.
- Knowledge of Medical Insurance.
- Current with ICD-10 Codes.
- Must have basic computer and keyboard skills required.
- Communicates openly and in a timely manner to the ECHN Patient Access Center clinical staff on an issues, questions, medical concerns or emergent cases.
- Obtains diagnosis and/or presenting symptoms for appropriate appointment as well as gather correct demographics and insurance information for billing and reimbursement.
- Maintains any schedule changes and maneuvers appropriate appointment dates and times based on the needs/concerns of the patient and/or the physician.
- Informs patients of required preparations prior to appointment according to defined protocol.
- Follows proper procedures to stay compliant with HIPAA guidelines.
- Able to operate department specific equipment including fax (specifically the fax software currently in use), computer, phones, copier, and printers.
