- Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of sustainable site development, grading, and construction projects that advance HVE's mission of environmental stewardship.
- Oversee and conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections, analyzing environmental data and ensuring projects comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering reports, technical documentation, and design plans to support permitting, compliance, and project delivery.
- Develop and review design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for infrastructure improvements, prioritizing innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Review and approve subdivision, land development, grading, and zoning plans, including stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans to minimize environmental impact.
- Prepare and oversee the submission of federal, state, and local permit applications, including NPDES and waterway permits, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Provide construction observation, field engineering services, and quality assurance to verify adherence to environmental and project standards.
- Lead grant and funding applications to support environmentally responsible initiatives.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) registration or ability to obtain within one year. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5-10 years of relevant civil engineering experience, with a strong background in consulting and environmental project delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
- Physically able to perform fieldwork and travel as required; valid driver's license.
- Proficient in MicroStation or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; advanced experience with Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, or other engineering software is highly desirable.
- Team player with strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
