They are also responsible for managing all Security personnel in their responsibility for the safety and well-being of casino guests and team members/The Security Shift Manager:
is responsible for the day-to-day operational issues of his/her shift.
Assumes Security Manager role in his/her absence.
Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and manages employees to ensure proper staffing levels and that employees receive adequate guidance, training and resources to accomplish established department objectives.
Understands department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget to achieve effective supervision of department.
Establishes and maintains training and development procedures to ensure extraordinary guest service standards are achieved.
Resolves guest complaints and ensures that the highest level of guest service is rendered at all times.
Is responsible for scheduling transportation of "for causeā drug/alcohol testing, as needed.
Provides support to other departments to ensure that proper procedures for Games, Slots, Cashiers, drops, etc., are implemented and maintained.
Ensures that proper arrest procedures and detainment techniques are carried out in violations of criminal law.
Ensures that all company and departmental procedures are followed; assists various local, state and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed.
Maintains current information on local criminal activity, etc., to ensure the protection of company assets, guests and team members; develops and maintains communications with law enforcement agencies and security personnel of other casinos.
Provides support to departmental management in the event of sensitive and/or dangerous situations involving terminations, thefts, team member or guest issues, etc.
Acts as the On-Scene Leader that reports to the Security Manager for any life safety emergency (such as, fire, flood, bomb threat, evacuation, man-overboard, etc.) on the vessel to ensure safety of casino guests, employees and property.
Maintains a high level of awareness as to criminal and civil laws as it pertains to Belterra; may conduct investigations where required.
Prepares, completes and reviews reports to ensure that management is kept abreast of security related incidents.
Qualifications
This position spends the majority of on duty time in public areas of the property, including, but not limited to, the casino, pavilion, restaurants, meeting spaces, rooming areas, parking lots, golf course and grounds.
Must be able to traverse stairs, uneven surfaces, varied flooring surfaces and ground covering while patrolling, responding to calls for service or emergency situations. The majority of on duty time is standing and/or walking.
Ability to perform duties under varying conditions, including but not limited to exposure to varying levels of smoke, crowds, noise and changing weather conditions.
Ability to compose clear, concise and accurate reports.
Must be able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems, altercations and conflicts.
Must able to lift up to 50 lbs. when moving money boxes, carts and drop equipment as necessary.
Must be able to push and pull weight limits that do not exceed the manufacturer requirements of equipment.
Must be able to assist sick or injured guests and or employees.
Ability to communicate courteously, effectively and professionally with guests, outside contacts and all levels of employees.
Must be able to use tools and equipment such as keys, handcuffs, flashlights, radios, computers and other tools specific to the position.
May drive company vehicles at times, and if so, maintain valid driver's license.
Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in security, law enforcement or military.
At least one (1) year experience in supervision.
Basic knowledge of Indiana civil and criminal laws and Indiana Gaming Commission regulations
Knowledge and understanding of electronic, video, and alarm functions.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
AED, CPR Certified, First Aid Certification, and Blood Borne pathogen training, preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports.
General familiarity with investigative procedures.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
