Talascend is currently seeking a Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Sylacauga, Alabama.OverviewThe role involves driving the completion of key projects, ensuring that processes run smoothly, products are delivered on time, and that the team's overall resources are used effectively and within budget.Responsibilities
  • Responsible for driving the completion of key projects ensuring that processes run smoothly, products are delivered on time and that the team's overall resources are used effectively and within budget.
  • Establish project plan, set the scope, and budget of the project.
  • Mark projects milestones and understand the critical path.
  • Calculate dates based on estimates of work and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project.
  • Create and execute quality control plan.
  • Apply comprehensive technical knowledge and management experience to identify potential risks and establish plan to mitigate those risks while managing cost implications, time constraints, and customer quality standards.
  • Ensure that specifications, group recommendations and regional requirements and regulations are implemented as defined in the project plan.
  • Ensure effective sustainability management in accordance with policies and local laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate project team including both internal and external resources.
  • Liaise with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the project status, requirements, structure and decision points within and beyond the project team.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external contractors, vendors and suppliers so that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Provide work direction, guidance and supervision to the project team.
  • Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in related field strongly preferred
  • 4 to 10 years of prior relevant experience in engineering/construction and/or project management
Requirements
  • Experience in a manufacturing or mining environment is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Solid project management and project planning skills, having managed and successfully completed diverse projects on-time and on-budget
  • Expertise in change management
  • Strong understanding of business process/system redesign
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts
