Come see why your job search should stop here!Our Remodel Maintenance Tech is a hands on position responsible the demolition and remodel of high end living units and facility improvements in a retirement center. S/he most have good construction knowledge of carpentry, installation of cabinets, counter tops, sheetrock, mudding, plumbing and electrical as well as good knowledge of materials within the construction trades. This person must be able to give direction to others to help complete the projects in the time frame given. He / she must have a good eye for high end quality finish work with an understanding of design, needs and wants of the resident moving in as well as the facility improvements with-in the organization.Other DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES that maybe required at Times:REPAIRS: receives and responds to work orders; performs repairs involving paint, drywall, carpentry,FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS: carries out or assists with building renovations including refurbishing apartments in preparation for the “move-in” of new residents, redecorating common areas, renovating space, and installing new equipment.RESIDENT SATISFACTION: solicits, receives and analyzes comments from residents and other customers relating to maintenance services; shares feedback from customers with other maintenance services staff for the purposes of passing on compliments and ensuring a team effort to satisfying customer requests and considering customer recommendations; modifies processes to increase resident satisfaction; provides residents with feedback as to how their requests and recommendations are being handled.BAYVIEW COMMUNITY: contributes through words and actions to the development of a cohesive, ethical, congenial and multicultural workforce; supports Bayview Retirement Community’s commitment to providing high quality services in an enriching, cost-effective, spiritual, and caring and dignified social environment.OTHER: complies with applicable laws and regulations including the state criminal background check; attends mandatory meetings and inservice training programs; adheres to Bayview Retirement Community policies and procedures; respects the confidentiality of information relating to residents, children, families, staff, and sensitive business information; cooperates with annual tuberculosis testing and/or symptom screening; responds appropriately to emergency situations using knowledge and skills to protect the well-being of one’s self and others; performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge and Skill
  • High school graduate or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
  • Prefer continuing education in subjects relating to building maintenance and/or construction.
  • Three to Five years’ experience in and/or construction trades combined with building maintenance experience..
  • Current Washington State driver’s license is desirable.
  • Must have a strong background and experience with construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret facility blue prints and mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous material and the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Working knowledge of modes of transmission of infectious diseases, including blood-borne pathogens, and the practice of universal precautions.
  • Understands and respects Residents’ Rights.
  • Demonstrates patience; a genuine caring attitude toward the elderly, disabled persons, and children; flexibility; a positive outlook; the ability to focus on the strengths of other people; and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in all of the categories mentioned as Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools in a correct and safe manner.
Judgment and Mental Demands
  • Expected to have a good understanding or mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, electrical, and structural problems and identify safe, timely, effective, and efficient means of correcting the problems.
  • Required to assess and evaluate the outcome of maintenance work and identify ways to improve services.
  • Required to make decisions required to effectively correct threats to safety.
