Overview:Coborn’s Inc. is hiring a Category Support Specialist to join our growing Merchandising team! As a Category Support Specialist, you will assist the category management team to optimize product assortments, pricing, promotions, inventory levels, communication, and contract maintenance! If you want to explore the world of merchandising through the grocery retail lens, join us today!Duties Overview:Category Management Support: Key success measurables include accuracy and timeliness of category setup, percentage of category initiatives executed on scheduled, and assortment planning to meet guest demands.
Assist Category Managers in implementing category strategies, product selection, and assortment planning to meet customer demands.
Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Key success measurables include percentage of vendor submissions processed on time, resolution rate of vendor issues, and vendor satisfaction.
Work with suppliers to ensure product availability, negotiate and pricing updates are maintained, and manage promotional activities.
Inventory Management: Key success measurables include out-of-stock percentage reduction, inventory turnover improvement, prediction reduction is excess/obsolete inventory.
Monitor inventory levels, track slow-moving products, and coordinate with the supply chain team to optimize replenishment.
Pricing & Promotion Support: Key success measurables include on-time promotional setup, accuracy rate of pricing, and sales lift from promotions.
Provide assistance in setting and leading the execution of competitive pricing strategies and coordinating promotional events to maximize sales and profitability. This includes accurately recording pricing, verifying ads, and ensuring timely and effective communication to appropriate internal and external parties.
Product Assortment Management: Key success measures include percentage accuracy of project data, error rate in item setups, and timeliness of product updates.
Maintain accurate product information, including descriptions, pricing, and placement in stores and online in applicable systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Key success measures include cross-functional team satisfaction, percentage of projects delivered on time, and effectiveness of communication across teams.
Work with marketing, merchandising, and store operations teams to execute category initiatives and drive customer engagement.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Key success measurables include timeliness and accuracy of reporting, adoption of insights by Category Managers, and measurable impact of recommendations on sales/margin.
Analyze sales trends, pricing, inventory levels, and customer preferences to provide insights and recommendations.
Administrative & Operational Support: Key success measures include percentage of administrative tasks completed on time, reduction in processing errors, and compliance with audit requirements/
Manage purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and category-related documentation to ensure seamless operations.
Guest Focus: Key success measures include response time to guest/internal inquiries, satisfaction from internal partners, and resolution rate of issues.
Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external requests; responding with a sense of urgency and guest focus.
Requirements:Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in retail support, merchandising, or category management, preferably in the grocery industry.
Solid understanding of retail operations, store-level execution, product and pricing systems, category management, and merchandising preferred.
