We’re seeking talented Data Engineers to join our Pacific Life Team in Newport Beach, CA. Looking for self-starters to help shape the future of data engineering and drive data-driven success.This role is onsite in our Newport Beach office.As a Data Engineer you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by accelerating our data initiatives by bringing modern technical solutioning forward. You will fill a new role that sits on the data team in the technology organization. Your colleagues will include scrum masters and data analyst and fellow Data, AI, Governance, and QA professionals.   • Partner with data architects, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Help build scalable products with robust security, quality and governance protocols.
  • Create low-level design artifacts, including mapping specifications.
  • Build scalable and reliable data pipelines to support data ingestions (batch and /or streaming) and transformation from multiple data sources using SQL, AWS, Snowflake, and data integration technologies.
  • Create unit/integration tests and implement automated build and deployment.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure standards and best practices.
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems.
  • Use the Agile Framework to organize, manage and execute work.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, initiative and attention to detail through deliverables and ways of working.
The experience you bring:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Statistics7+ years of experience in analysis, design, development, and delivery of data7+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL, ETL, ELT, leading cloud data warehouse technologies, data transformation, and data management toolsUnderstanding of data engineering best practices and data integration patterns2+ years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD1+ years of experience (not just POC) in using Git and PythonAgile Scrum work experienceEffective communication & facilitation; both verbal and writtenTeam-Oriented: Collaborating effectively with team and stakeholdersAnalytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to breakdown complex data solutionsWhat makes you stand out:Experience working with Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Build and Release CI/CD pipelines and orchestrationExperience working with AWSExperience with automation, scripting, and testing in data delivery environmentUnderstanding of data catalogs, glossary, data quality, and effective data governanceFinancial Services/Investments/Insurance domain knowledgeExperience working in complex data systemsMaster Data Management/Reference Data experienceThe recruiting process:All resumes will go through an initial review.Candidates will be notified via email regarding next steps.Selected applicants will be asked to partake in a recorded video-interviewInterviews will be conducted both virtually and in-person.Compensation:Base compensation will be based on your experienceNewport Beach, CA ranges between $125,500-$150,000 plus an annual bonus#LI-DW1You can be who you are.People come first here. Base Pay Range:The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
