A boutique, Chicago-based independent RIA is seeking a Financial Advisor to join its growing team. The firm provides comprehensive financial planning and investment management services, with a specialized focus on customized bond portfolios. Operating under a fiduciary, client-first model, it is recognized for its emphasis on education, transparency, and long-term retirement planning.This is not a cold-calling or heavy prospecting role. The firm generates a consistent pipeline of pre-qualified leads through robust marketing efforts and a strong referral network. Advisors are empowered to focus on relationship-building, client education, and personalized strategy development-while dedicated support staff handle administrative and servicing responsibilities. This is an ideal opportunity for an advisor who excels in planning and client engagement, and who values education over traditional sales tactics.Successful advisors will have the opportunity to grow into leadership roles, including managing an existing book of business or overseeing an office. They may also mentor other advisors and continue expanding their client base in a scalable, well-supported environment.Responsibilities:
Meet with qualified, firm-generated leads (no cold calling) through both face-to-face and virtual meetings
Build relationships, uncover goals and concerns, and establish trust through personalized financial conversations
Identify gaps in financial plans and recommend strategies tailored to client needs
Collaborate with the firm's trading and planning teams to implement recommendations
Maintain high standards of client service and adhere to all compliance protocols
Advisors operate in a collaborative environment, with mentorship and team-based planning when needed
Advisors are not responsible for paperwork, account servicing, or administrative tasks
Dedicated support staff handles operations and client service so advisors can focus on client strategy and educationRequirements:
3+ years of experience in financial services, ideally in a client-facing advisory role
Series 65 license (or Series 7 and 66 combination)
Health & Life Insurance license preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts
Passionate about helping clients achieve long-term financial success
Comfortable working independently within a team-oriented environmentThis position offers a monthly draw ranging from $4,000 to $5,000, with flexibility based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. The draw provides consistent cash flow while the advisor builds their client base. Once revenue generated exceeds the draw, advisors become eligible for performance-based bonuses, often resulting in significantly higher total compensation. The firm also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) with employer contribution, health and disability insurance, and the potential for additional benefits as the role evolves.
