
Material Distribution Specialist

- Receive incoming raw material, finished goods, shop supplies, and services. Accurately process receiving documents (e.g. supplier pack slips and TGP receiving work sheets and purchase orders).
- Perform timely and accurate data entry to allocate inventory against Pick Lists and other usage
- Label and locate incoming material to appropriate area(s) as required. Accountable for accurate inventory counts, inventory locations and inventory related management functions
- Promptly and accurately receive, allocate, and distribute inventory and non-inventory material to Production work cells and internal team members.
- Accurately process inventory transactions within the MRP system, such that there are no discrepancies between the reported quantity and the actual quantity on hand.
- Work closely with Purchasing and Accounting to quickly reconcile any item balance discrepancies.
- Unload and load materials from containers, trucks and or other vehicles and locate to appropriate locations for further processing.
- Maintain work areas according to 5S principles.
- Manage inventory and non-inventory items within their designated stocking location as well as point of use.
- Perform incoming inspection. Determine acceptance of material and complete and process inspection documentation as required. Assist with the disposition of non-conforming material.
- Perform monthly and quarterly inventory cycle counts.
- Fulfill pick ticket function ensuring the timely and accurate picking, packing, delivery, transaction, and maintenance of all documents associated with the process.
- Maintain work cell shop supply bins
- Complete all necessary documentation pertaining to inventory movement and transactions
- Monitor and replenish multiple Kanban bins on production floor
- Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-range plans relating to inventory management
- Offload material from containers, trucks and or other vehicles and move to appropriate locations for further processing
- Maintain work areas according to 5S principles on a daily basis
- Fulfill assigned specific daily and weekly job assignments as outlined by supervisor that meet departmental and company goals
- Other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of experience in material distribution, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing.
- Forklift experience, forklift certification preferred
- Demonstrated computer experience in Microsoft Office applications and Material Resource Planning/Enterprise Resource Planning type systems
- Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional ‘can do’ attitude
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and prioritizing multiple tasks along with meeting deadlines
- Consistently demonstrate independent judgment and initiative; driven self-started dedicated to continuous process improvement
- Detail-oriented, accurate, dependable and willing to accept a wide variety of assignments
- Knowledge/Experience in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools required
- Experience with MRP systems and processing inventory transactions
- Comfortable operating a forklift for moving inventory
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret inventory data and reports
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong math skills
