- Teach a full-time credit load of undergraduate Spanish courses over the course of the academic year.
- Basic administrative functions such as course scheduling, curriculum-level coordination, adjunct hiring and mentoring, and textbook adoption.
- Participation in departmental meetings and events.
- Other related duties as assigned
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Spanish applied linguistics or transnational cultural studies (cultural and social movements, film, media, literature, identity, etc.) in the Spanish-speaking world.
- Experience teaching Spanish.
- Innovative use of instructional technology
- Native or near-native speaking and written competency in the Spanish language
- Experienced and enthusiastic language teacher and educator
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ph.D/Doctoral degree in relevant field.
- Familiarity with remote and online teaching, COIL, Teletandem, and similar strategies.
- Ability to engage through advanced community-based courses with Philadelphia's Spanish-speaking migrant and heritage population.
- Experience teaching courses in health/medical Spanish.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within the Spanish Program and Department.
