- Bachelor’s degree in theology, scripture, spirituality or related field is required.
- Master’s degree in theology, scripture, spirituality, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of (1) unit of clinical pastoral education (CPE) at an Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or Clinical Pastoral Education International (CPEI) Accredited Center is required. Must obtain within 1 year of hire if candidate does not already have 1 CPE from an accredited ACPE program.
- 2-4 units of CPE is preferred.
- 3 years of experience working with Catholic Health Care, Mission or Spiritual Care or related experience is required.
- Must be a member in good standing within a faith community.
- At least one year of progressively more responsible leadership experience is required.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Suite is required. Must also be comfortable navigating and utilizing a variety of digital applications and communication tools such as Workday, Microsoft Teams, Halo/Clinical Comms, Epic, Zoom, or Webex Video.
- 2 year of chaplaincy experience within a health care setting is preferred.
- Certification with National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) or Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC) is required. May be obtained within five (5) years of hire if not already certified.
