Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Part-Time (2 days per week)Our client is hiring a Physical Therapist (Part-Time) in the Bronx, NY, to provide school-based therapy and evaluations. You will assess gross motor skills, create individualized treatment plans, and support student participation in educational settings. This role includes collaborating with teachers, parents, and interdisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with IEP requirements. Ideal candidates are licensed PTs seeking a flexible part-time opportunity to promote student growth and independence.Responsibilities as the Physical Therapist:
- Student Evaluations: Conduct screenings and evaluations to assess musculoskeletal status, posture, motor skills, and functional mobility.
- Therapy Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans and activities that promote gross motor development and classroom participation.
- Classroom & Staff Support: Demonstrate strategies for teachers and staff to integrate motor development techniques and foster student independence.
- Family & Staff Training: Provide workshops and guidance to parents and staff on supporting sensory and motor skill development.
- IEP & Documentation: Recommend IEP goals, participate in conferences, and maintain accurate treatment notes and progress reports.
- Education: Masters degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited APTA program required.
- Licensure: Current New York State Physical Therapist (PT) license required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of pediatric or school-based physical therapy experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of IEP processes, pediatric motor development, sensory integration, and school-based therapy practices.
- Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication, flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families.
