- Financial management of project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Creating accurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders, including project managers, executives, and clients.
- Reviewing and process vendor invoices in accordance with vendor contracts and billing schedules.
- Cost control, including monitoring project expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing strategies to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Preparing and reviewing client invoices in accordance with project contracts and billing schedules.
- Tracking client payments, addressing overdue accounts, and managing collections.
- Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and GAAP standards.
- Maintaining organized project files and documentation related to financial transactions, contracts, and change orders.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to address financial performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a project accountant, preferably 3+ years with accounting for an architecture or construction firm.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles, cost management, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GAAP, AIA contracts).
