As the Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of architectural projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting, budget monitoring, and cost control.Responsibilities:
  • Financial management of project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Creating accurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders, including project managers, executives, and clients.
  • Reviewing and process vendor invoices in accordance with vendor contracts and billing schedules.
  • Cost control, including monitoring project expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing strategies to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Preparing and reviewing client invoices in accordance with project contracts and billing schedules.
  • Tracking client payments, addressing overdue accounts, and managing collections.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and GAAP standards.
  • Maintaining organized project files and documentation related to financial transactions, contracts, and change orders.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to address financial performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a project accountant, preferably 3+ years with accounting for an architecture or construction firm.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles, cost management, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GAAP, AIA contracts).
