- Design, develop and deploy advanced automated visual and optical inspection systems to enhance quality control and efficiency in IOL manufacturing.
- Integrate machine vision technologies with industrial automation equipment, including PLCs, robotics, and motion control systems.
- Optimize image processing algorithms and inspection criteria to detect defects, measure dimensions, and ensure high product quality.
- Utilize Cognex, Keyence, Matrox, or other machine vision platforms for real-time inspection and defect detection.
- Design vision-based inspection systems for quality control, including surface inspection, dimensional measurement, and optical characterization.
- Work with imaging sensors, cameras, and lighting systems to enhance detection accuracy and system performance.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and optimize vision inspection systems to maintain high performance.
- Develop vision system validation protocols in compliance with FDA, ISO, and GMP standards for medical device manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory, to continually improve inspection processes.
- Provide technical documentation, training, and ongoing technical support for system implementation and maintenance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in machine vision engineering or industrial automation.
- Hands-on experience with machine vision platforms such as Cognex, Keyence, Matrox, or similar.
- In-depth understanding of optical inspection principles, image processing, and defect detection algorithms.
- Knowledge of lighting techniques, lens selection, and camera setups for high-precision inspection.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) PLC programming and motion control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting and optimizing vision system performance in a production environment.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations, ISO, and GMP standards for medical device manufacturing is an advantage.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with AI-based vision inspection or deep learning for defect detection.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of advanced optical inspection techniques and metrology tools.
- Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
- Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech.
- Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
- May require occasional travel.
