- The TPM works within the context of the Operations Project team, coordinating and managing activities with the Project Manager assigned to the project.
- Reviews contract and proposal documents.
- Validates engineering scope, phases, and releases, and identifies project milestone.
- Generates and maintains three week schedules.
- Generates and maintains Labor Tracking Report and coordinates phases and activities with Timesheet entries.
- Tracks budget change requests.
- Generates internal estimates for scope changes
- Establishes and maintains RFI process in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Validates Master Document Index (MDI).
- Validates CAD directory structure, project library (ESP).
- Validates format, presentation and information required for documentation at each stage of the job.
- Validates filing system, drawing logs, die logs, and Project Manual.
- Participates in project meetings with architect, consultant vendors, etc.
- Performs value analysis of design alternatives and communicates options to Operations Project Manager.
- Participates in design decisions regarding system materials and components.
- Manages labor reporting process (Timesheets and Penta.)
- Facilitates effective transition from proposal phase to project design.
- Looks for opportunities for increasing profitabilty of the project.
- Participates in development of project means and methods.
- Attends and participates in creation of PMU QA/QC plan, on-site assembly, installation, and testing of mock-ups and ensure that mock-up revisions are incorporated into the final design.
- Analyzes and reviews drawings for adjacent trade coordination
- Analyzes returned commented drawings and generate drawing review forms.
- Manages communication between structural and production engineering to optimize design.
- Coordinates document reproduction and distribution within Engineering and up to Operations.
- Responds to vendor inquiries.
- Remains current with overall project status with the Operations team.
- Chairs weekly engineering project team meetings and maintain/publish meeting minutes.
- Assists Operations Project Manager in defining and maintaining overall project schedule.
- Assists Operations Project Manager in closing out engineering portion of the project.
- Communicates project information to Operations Project Manager on a timely basis.
- Assists in pricing engineering costs and participates in pre-bid process as required.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University in Architectural Engineering, Structural, Civil, Construction or Mechanical Engineering; and/or seven to ten years curtainwall industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrates high level project planning organizational skills with the ability to achieve results through others.
- Advanced business financial understanding to ensure processes are in place to identify and address financial impact to the project.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, technical procedures or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to solve problems involving several well-defined variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to use AutoCAD, word processing, spreadsheet, email and project management software.
- Working knowledge of 3D drafting programs.
- Ability to travel to support projects as needed.
