- Big data system innovations, including resource management, storage, caching, query optimization, security, and privacy.
- Research polystore systems and apply AI/ML techniques to tackle foundational challenges like data quality, profiling, integration, and schema matching.
- Develop Scalable Tools
- Build frameworks for creating machine learning models and data science algorithms across multiple domains, including tabular data, time-series, text, audio, and video.
- Innovate Distributed Architectures
- Design distributed systems leveraging edge computing to enable use cases such as predictive routing, adaptive environments, and data-driven experiences.
- Collaborate Across Domains
- Work with Dolby's Advanced Technology Group (ATG) researchers to address data-centric challenges in AI/ML for audio and video applications.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of software architecture for real-time, distributed processing of audio/video algorithms across cloud and edge devices.
- Basic familiarity with audio/video streaming formats.

- Eagerness to explore emerging technologies and create new solutions.
- Inventiveness:

- PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
- Expertise in relational databases, big data systems, and data analytics.
- Deep knowledge of data management, distributed systems, query optimization, and applied data science.
- Proficiency in statistics, machine learning, and foundational data structures/algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Relevant publications in top-tier conferences (e.g., SIGMOD, VLDB, KDD).
- Experience with tools like Databricks, Spark, or cloud-based data services.
- Familiarity with AI model development and deployment in cloud environments.
