Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm 24hrs/week
**No Holidays or CallCoordinates and performs vascular procedures.Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions1. Coordinates and performs cardiac or vascular procedures according to the department policy and procedures approved by the Medical Director and pertinent governing body using digital imaging.Selects from work list 100% of the time or follows the correct down time guidelines for patient demographic information in order to pass the information to medical records.Works closely with Information Technology (IT) when the work list is not working. Information Technology (IT) feedback and notification of manual scanning of finalized results for medical records.Competency check list on each procedure by technical director.2. Obtains accurate patient history, appropriate indications for the study and critical measurements for physician's interpretation.Feedback from physicians, peers, business office and medical records.Obtain signed consent for Medicare patients if test is not covered.3. Acquires all images digitally and assigns the images to a physician for final interpretation.All studies sent and edited within 24 hours of procedure.Feedback from Medical Records for completion of orders and results in Cerner.4. Educates the patient on procedure that is being performed BEFORE the procedure begins and checks for understanding from patient.Ask patients if education was given before exam by supervisor on a prn basis. Rounding for outcomesAsk patient if educational material was given to them by ordering physician's office5. Log each patient on log sheet and bill appropriately in Cerner following the procedure.Feedback from Business office and Medical Records6. Give critical lab results to the ordering department and instruct them to read back the results for clarification and understanding per department policy.Document on log sheet who the critical lab result was given to and that they were read back to the sonographer. Initial log sheet after results are read backRound for outcomes on positive results7. Collaborates in maintaining proper inventory and works with Information Technology (IT) and Bio-Med when equipment or system goes down.Keeps manager informed of maintenance issues and IT system issuesFeedback from Information Technology (IT) (PACS project manager)Feedback from Bio-Med on ultrasound and SAP equipment issues8.
