- Daily interfaces with the operations manager to provide the production schedule and the overall materials plan.
- Manages inventory of starting materials, WIP, and finished goods to support production activities.
- Monitors actual and forecasted consumption of materials and orders replenishment stock.
- Manages timely and efficient processing of orders through the procurement process. Interfaces with receiving plants weekly to assure order accuracy and develops weekly production forecast.
- Updates the pricing model based on new material and transportation costs.
- Monitors the status of open purchase orders including delivery and quality issues that may affect status.
- Reviews and evaluates safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, supplier, and QA lead times on a regular basis to identify continuous improvement opportunities including but not limited to inventory reductions.
- Manages production yield while minimizing scrap and can identify, report, and track defects and issues as well as analyze and interpret data and metrics.
- Manages all rejected/non-conforming material through the Material Disposition Process.
- Tracks and reports production performance and interfaces with leadership on quality and throughput issues.
- Interfaces with Accounts Payables monthly to account for shop floor inventory.
- Provides support to Purchasing for credit issues with vendors.
- Coordinates the return of the material with QA, Purchasing, warehouse, and suppliers.
- Maintains complete and current knowledge of all material requirements, production processes, and issues affecting product availability, including special activities related to specific products and/or projects (for example, managing requests for special samples to support stability studies and global product registrations).
- Perform daily factory and warehouse walkthroughs to supervise employees and production practices
- S. in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of manufacturing or relevant experience.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Experience in Quality Control activities, ability to identify and manage risk.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be able to use a series of digital tools for capturing orders, optimizing batch runs, and interfacing with floor equipment to track orders.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment and adapt to changing business needs.
- Attention to Detail with an exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of data accuracy.
- Adept at collaborating in cross-functional teams and leading by example.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex production and supply chain issues.
- 10-25% travel to support receiving plants if needed and work with suppliers on enhancing their quality and shipment lead times.
