Administrative LeadershipServe as a leader and role model for physician peers and advanced practitioners.Provide leadership in evidence-based obstetric care, modeling the use of relevant guidelines and best practices.Manage effective two-way communication between physicians and WMG leadership on:Strategic directionClinical quality standardsPhysician needs and concernsResource allocation and budget imperativesParticipate in the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, standard orders, and protocols across OB Hospitalist sites.Recommend equipment and supply purchases to meet clinical needs.Oversee development and management of performance data including patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and clinical outcome metrics.Actively participate in recruitment, orientation, and mentoring of new physicians and APPs, including chart review and onboarding support.Champion a culture of patient- and family-centered care, emphasizing service excellence.Ensure optimal adoption and utilization of the Epic EHR system.II. Administrative Meetings & CommunicationParticipate in departmental, regional, and system-level meetings as requested.Meet regularly with WMG leadership (AVP, DPO, and Women’s Service Line leadership) to review clinical outcomes, performance improvement, provider dashboards, and program development.Collaborate with hospital leadership at OB Hospitalist sites to ensure alignment of operational and clinical priorities.III. Quality Improvement & Clinical ExcellenceDirect the monitoring of clinical outcomes and operational performance across practice sites.Lead performance improvement initiatives, working with physicians, APPs, and staff to improve quality and efficiency.Support integration and optimization of new technologies and workflows.Provide frontline triage and leadership support during clinical rollouts/go-lives of new systems and technology.Mentor staff on application use and link adoption to improved patient safety and care quality.Participate in ongoing education and training to ensure continuous quality improvement.IV. Community Outreach & MarketingAttend and contribute to outreach and marketing meetings with payors, consultants, and community partners.Support development of educational and marketing programs to promote OB Hospitalist services.Build collegial relationships across WMG, Wellstar Health System, and community providers, including ED physicians, hospitalists, specialists, and primary care physicians.Lead or participate in regular staff meetings to support team alignment and communication.Serve as a physician resource to system outreach and marketing teams.V. Strategic Planning & Fiscal ManagementContribute to strategic planning efforts for the OB Hospitalist program and Women’s Health Service Line.Provide input into annual operating and capital budget planning for OB Hospitalist practices.Participate in the development of policies and procedures that emphasize cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards of care.QualificationsMD or DO degree with Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including significant experience as an OB Hospitalist.Prior leadership or medical director experience preferred.Demonstrated success in physician leadership, program development, and performance improvement.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead across multiple sites and disciplines.Proficiency in Epic or other electronic health record systems preferred.FTE Allocation0.2 FTE Administrative Leadership – system oversight, program management, meetings, quality improvement, outreach, and strategic planning.0.8 FTE Clinical – OB Hospitalist direct patient care at designated Wellstar facilities.Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful work—and enjoy a more rewarding life.
