Required License/Registration/CertificationIf selected for the position, applicants must attend training in August 2025, prior to the beginning the position.
Physical RequirementsSitting and standing for long periods of time.
ShiftPeer Tutors/SI Leaders can expect to work between 8-10 hours per week. A successful applicant will be available to attend lecture for the supported course (SI) during the semester, hold study sessions and office hours during the week, and attend regularly scheduled team meetings. Peer Tutor and SI Leaders' schedules are determined at the beginning of each semester though some variation may occur due to extenuating circumstance.
Job SummaryThis position is for the Fall 2025 semester and will start in August. The Peer Tutoring and SI Program is currently hiring for ACC 200/201 and MA 123, as well as all other subjects supported by tutoring and SI.The Study Peer Tutors provide drop-in academic support for undergraduatestudents enrolled in many 100 & 200 level math, science, and business courses.Peer Tutors assist small groups of students in fully understanding concepts,completing assignments, studying for exams, and honing their study skills. PeerTutors are responsible for providing guidance through course content and supportstudents in developing as independent learners.Presentation U Peer Tutors provide one-on-one and small group tutoring onmultimodal communication assignments (oral, written, visual, digital) for coursesat any level and in any subject. Peer tutors will work with students through activelistening, goal setting, and probing questions to support them through the creativeprocess. Peer tutors should be resourceful and dedicated individuals with ademonstrated commitment to academic success.Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders are trained to plan and facilitate weeklyactive learning study sessions for students enrolled in SI supported courses. SIstudy sessions integrate the review of course content with effective learning andstudying strategies. SI Leaders do not lecture or teach new course material butprovide students with the tools they need to understand and process coursematerial themselves.
