Join a family-owned organization with a legacy of changing skylines for over 70 years—where your skills will be recognized, your knowledge will be put to work, and you’ll have the opportunity to grow alongside some of the best talent in the industry.We are seeking a dedicated welder who is responsible for fabricating and assembling steel structures by interpreting technical drawings, operating welding and metalworking equipment, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards in a dynamic construction environment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesErect ladders and scaffolding to assemble large structures.Design and construct templates and fixtures using hand tools.Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal.Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and task sequences.Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or assemble metal components.Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.Tack-weld fitted parts together.Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces using measuring devices.Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.Align parts or workpieces for proper assembly.Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements.Knowledge and SkillsProficiency in operating fabricating and welding equipmentStrong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and work ordersAbility to use hand tools and measuring devices accuratelyEffective communication and teamwork skillsAttention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipSafety-first mindset and adherence to all safety policiesQualificationsMinimum 1 year of relevant experience and/or AWS Structural Welder Stick Certification (D1.1)Ability to work in various weather conditionsAbility to safely lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and stairsPhysical capability to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, crouch, reach with hands, and safely lift up to 60 poundsAbility to climb ladders and stairsPossession of proper protective clothing (safety shield, gloves, etc.)Reliable transportation to job sitesBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision InsurancesLife and Other Voluntary Insurances401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Time Off and HolidaysMerit Shop ContractorContinuous Training CoursesLeonard S.
