A $1.00 shift differential will also apply.Position Overview:Lead Material Handlers are responsible for leading and managing a team of material handlers in order to maintain productivity levels within their designated shift. This includes ensuring timely delivery of materials to production lines while meeting quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication abilities.Key Responsibilities:Manage inventory levels by tracking stock on hand, orders received vs. scheduled deliveries, returns from production lines etc., adjusting as necessary based upon production needsEnsure proper documentation for all materials handled including receipts, transfers, put away’s etc., maintain accurate records according to procedures set forth by managementSupervise and lead material handlers on assigned shifts to meet department goals and objectivesConduct daily safety inspections around facility and report any unsafe conditions or acts immediatelyMaintain cleanliness standards throughout warehouse areasWork closely with Production Scheduler/Planner to ensure materials are available when neededParticipate in periodic meetings with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Production Planning & Control, Warehouse Operations etc., sharing information regarding shortages or surpluses of materialsKeep up with changes in processes and procedures related to material handling and distributionOther tasks may be assigned to improve and maintain the proper training and support of the DCMinimum Qualifications:Typically requires 5+ years of related experienceAdditional Skills and Qualifications:5 years of experience in a distribution center (pick, pack) with some leadership. Internal employees must have 1 year of distribution center experience to qualifyPower equipment experience strongly preferred (including cherry picker, reach truck, and a powered pallet jack).
