  • This is a union environment and candidates will need to be able to work 11pm-7am and 3pm-11pm shift.
  • This position starts at $41.49/hr (for Class 3 +$2 OR Class 4 +$4).
Position overviewAre you interested in learning more about Manufacturing in the world leading industrial coating resins company? We are looking for a knowledgeable Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator to join our team. You will be monitoring and controlling WWTP Plant to support production and meet state and federal operating and reporting guidelines - directly responsible for the efficient operation of the shift.If you have an understanding of regulations and other legal requirements, then we are waiting for your application.Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor all phases of operation of the equipment
  • Perform all duties including sampling, testing, reporting, computer monitoring, and inputting operational data required maintaining compliance with permits and regulations
  • Adjust process variables based on laboratory test results, instrument reading and observations. Remove all collected solids from treatment plant basins
  • Perform WWTP Laboratory Technician duties in conjunction with or in absence of the WWTP Laboratory Technician
  • Provide communications and coordination with appropriate Department and Plant personnel as necessary to assure safe and efficient operations
  • Adhere to all environmental practices, standards, rules, procedures and requirements. As trained, handle hazardous waste in accordance with department procedures and regulatory requirements
Required skills and experience
  • Wastewater concentration calculation, daily usage and gallons conversion using basic mathematics
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Advanced mathematics preferred
  • Basic chemistry and biology preferred
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Class 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license required.
Physical Requirements
  • Long periods of standing
  • Walking and sitting
  • Ability to wear certified safety equipment as required
  • Lifting capability of up to 40 pounds/20kg
  • Climbing ladders
  • Repetitive movements among others
