OverviewIDC US/IDC Canada's Platforms and SaaS Research group is looking to add a new member to its team in the role of Senior Research Analyst, Path Programs.The Senior Research Analyst role will be responsible for helping support the execution and overall direction for IDC's Path Programs, which include four of IDC's premiere global survey and data analysis programs focused on cloud, AI, SaaS, CX, and professional services, among other technology-related areas. These programs capture technology buyer behavior, sentiment, need, and strategy from thousands of organizations around the world. They help synthesize deeper understanding of the survey data to enable more optimized strategic planning and go-to-market strategy for leading enterprises and technology companies.This role involves survey design, analysis, and data manipulation, as well as project management and authoring of research reports focused on many technology topics, such as cloud services, platforms, customer experience (CX), business models, professional services, AI, and business strategy.Why IDC?IDC is the most respected global technology market research firm. You must be in the office 1-2 days/week in Toronto if you are located in the Greater Toronto area.Responsibilities
  • Support the execution and overall direction for IDC's Path programs which includes, Cloud, AI, SaaS and CX
  • Analyze survey data sets to identify key learnings/trends and create reports and presentations that visualize conclusions and takeaways.
  • Support related consulting engagments and custom research
  • Support sales and marketing efforts, and being the affective advisor to IDC clients
  • Travel (approximately 5%) will be required as needed for Industry events/conferences
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree. Master's degree a plus
  • 3+ years of data analysis or market research experience, preferably in the IT industry with experience in the software and/or IT services industry, or related market segments
  • Solid understanding of Information Technology, particularly related to software and IT services
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Prior experience working with survey data is desirable and experience with specialized tools, such as Displayr, is a big plus
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong speaking presence. Ability to handle client inquiries over the phone or in-person, deliver webcasts, and occasionally speak at meetings or events
  • Strong writing skills. Ability to write research reports quickly and clearly, in a prescriptive fashion, offering business and technology advice to clients
  • Prior data analysis or market research experience in the IT industry, with experience in software, services, and/or cloud related market segments is preferred
