We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our team part-time. This role will support our production team in various projects related to process improvement, quality control, and manufacturing efficiency with a focus on reading and building specs within company ERP system. The ideal candidate is a current student pursuing a degree in a relevant engineering field, eager to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing setting. Process Improvement: Assist with projects to optimize production methods, reduce costs, and improve the quality of metal finishing. This may involve time studies, data collection, and analysis of current processes.
Reading and Interpreting Technical Documents: Analyze blueprints and technical specifications to understand product requirements and ensure that manufacturing processes meet these standards. You'll assist in translating design specs into clear work instructions for production staff.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from the production floor and lab tests to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and support process changes.
Problem-Solving: Work with engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues, such as equipment malfunctions or quality control failures.
Documentation: Create or update technical reports, work instructions, and specifications for new and existing manufacturing processes.
Safety and Compliance: Help ensure all processes adhere to safety standards and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
Excellent computer skills, and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other relevant software.
Self-sufficient and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
