Job Description:The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical infrastructure systems at Ventas. The administrator is responsible for ensuring the availability and consistent performance of Ventas infrastructure. This person in this position is a member of the IT Infrastructure team and will also assist with day-to-day systems management responsibilities, including managing critical on-premise and cloud data center systems.Responsibilities
  • Cloud Technologies: Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Experience with platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is essential.
  • Backup and Recovery Systems: Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. Perform regular testing of backup and recovery processes.
  • Windows Patch Management: Oversee the deployment of Windows updates and patches across the organization. Ensure systems are up-to-date and secure by managing patch cycles and addressing vulnerabilities promptly.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Perform regular maintenance to ensure systems are running efficiently.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to support organizational goals and projects. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience with the following technologies:
  • SCCM
  • Patch management
  • Enterprise backup and storage systems management and configuration
  • Cloud environment administration
  • Windows Server/Desktop administration
  • Active Directory administration
  • VMware administration
  • O365 administration
  • Multi Factor Authentication/SSO configuration
  • Citrix or Nutanix experience is a plus
  • Experience with installing third party applications on windows systems
  • Proficient in use of service desk ticket systems and Microsoft office tools
  • Critical thinker and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take direction but exercise independent thought and judgment
  • Ability to establish, monitor, and achieve goals with minimal supervision, including working with many deadlines, time requirement conflicts and management pressures
  • Collaborate across many teams within IT to deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Excellent verbal communication, including the demonstrated ability to listen and to communicate
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as neeeded
