Family and Community HealthWest Virginia University School of Nursing invites applications for a Non-Tenure, Clinical Practice Track Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor. This is a full-time (1.0), 12-month, benefits eligible position to teach in and serve as the track coordinator of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Post-Masters certificate program. This position will report to the chairperson of the Family and Community Health Department.Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Serving as the track coordinator of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Post-Masters certificate program
- Teaching in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Post-Masters certificate program including content related to the role psychiatric nurse practitioner in online classrooms and other formats
- Participates in the development and delivery of graduate nursing education
- Serves as a student mentor
- Assesses and evaluates clinical preceptors, providing support for professional development and serving as a mentor
- Participates in and provides service leadership to School of Nursing committees
- Successful candidates will hold at least one (1) graduate degree in nursing with an earned doctorate in nursing preferred
- Board certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from an approved certifying body and WV licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse is required
- At least two (2) years of delivering primary care as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority required, with three (3) years or more of experience preferred
- Prior teaching experience, inclusive of serving as adjunct or clinical preceptor to graduate nursing students, preferred
