It is one of the largest health foundations in the United States, funding more than $100 million annually in a five-county area surrounding Austin, Texas.Through a unique partnership with St. David's HealthCare, the Foundation strategically reinvests proceeds from the hospital system back into the community, with a goal of advancing health equity and addressing the needs of the communities facing the greatest health challenges.Beyond grantmaking, the Foundation operates the largest mobile dental program in the country, providing highly accessible, quality oral healthcare, and offers the largest healthcare scholarship program in Texas, the St. David's Neal Kocurek Program.Job PurposeThe Evaluation Associate is responsible for supporting the implementation of equity focused evaluation, research, and strategic learning approaches at the Foundation. This role analyzes internal and external data to monitor progress on key indicators and contributes to internal and external evaluations of bodies of work. As a technical specialist, this role will assist in managing the tools and technology required for data analysis and visualizations. This requires collaboration across the Foundation with teams like Communications, Community Investments, Community Programs, Grants Management, and IT.Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor 's degree in field that requires hypothesis testing and systematic data analysis.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in data analytics or program evaluation.
  • Minimum of one year of experience with data analysis tools (Tableau Prep, Power BI, or SQL).
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with staff at all levels of an organization, and with external partners, including nonprofit, community, and data professionals.
  • Comprehension of all aspects of database management: experience with entering, manipulating, and maintaining data.
  • Knowledge of database structures, relational data tables, and using joins, unions, and calculations to transform data.
  • High computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences or applied research related field, including Social Sciences, Public Health, Public Policy, Economics, Epidemiology, or other field that requires hypothesis testing and systematic data analysis.
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience with program evaluation of non-profit organizations and assessing the strength of evidence for different interventions.
  • High computer proficiency in Asana.
  • Experience providing technical assistance or consulting services to a variety of organizations.
  • Experience in writing and editing research reports for practitioner as well as general audiences.
  • Public Health background.
