Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Under Direct supervision this position responds to inquiries regarding Adult Education ESOL/GED class schedules and fees and meets with students to help ensure the effective operation of the Adult Education program. This position works closely with campus personnel to support student services.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Greeting and assisting the public via telephone and face-to-face in a friendly professional manner.
Scheduling clients for the CASAS/TABE Assessment and facilitation appointments.
Registering students in class; Facilitate and process payments, including collection of tuition fees and other related class- related expenses, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and financial procedures.
Provides support to adjunct instructors with electronic attendance tracking.
Contact students with excessive absences.
Assists in maintaining department files and records following confidential information policies.
Taking telephone messages.
Completing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent from a regionally accredited institution; or Associate’s degree;
Computer Literate- computer keyboarding skills;
Customer service experience recommended.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
