Since 1954, Woodgrain is proud to be family owned and operated.PRODUCTION III - JOB DESCRIPTION (WOODGRAIN)JOB SUMMARY:
This position reports to Production Manager. Production III is responsible for assembling and fabricating prepared components required to construct a pre-hung door unit. Key responsibilities involve preparing components for assembly and building the unit according to the specifications listed on the work ticket. To be successful, a Production II must demonstrate strong attention to detail, produce accurate work, and remain committed to working safely.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Fabricate and assemble various types of pre-hung doors including singles, doubles, and transoms.Read and interpret, with assistance, drawings provided to assemble special requirements of a door assembly.Understand height and width requirements of doors on orders (rough openings, net unit openings) and calculate finished assembly measurements per the work order.Train other employees in all aspects of the Production II position including jamb/frame/sill preparation, differentiating between “in-swing” and “out-swing,” safe machine operation, and assembly of select door styles and types.Keep the work area clean during and at the end of shift; clean and properly store tools and equipment.Perform additional duties related to Woodgrain employment as assigned.TOOLS USED (include but are not limited to): chop saw, table saw, rip saw, hand saw; router, nail gun, screw gun, door machine, various pneumatic tools, and drills.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED and three to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence and communicate effectively in one-on-one or small group settings.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations with measurements of weight, volume, and distance.OTHER SKILLS/CERTIFICATION:
Forklift certification may be required depending on branch requirements.REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions and understand branch/industry standards for identifying, measuring, repairing, replacing, and modifying products.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands for handling and manipulation, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Frequent standing and walking are required. Employees must be able to lift and/or move 75-100 pounds regularly. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
