Job Description:Coherent Staffing is looking for a Business Analyst to facilitate the daily Revenue Accounting activities at our client's worksite. They will provide subject matter expertise for the Motor Fuel Rewrite project. It is the goal of the program to ensure strategic or critical projects are completed or near completion around key dates in order to provide a seamless transition for employees taking on these duties.Duration: 12 monthsPay Rate: $ $52- $54/hourThis project is on-site: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.Location: Capitcal Circle Office Center Tallahassee, FL 32399The Business Analyst position(s) will augment current program resources and provide consulting services in support of the completion of strategic, critical, or internally directed projects.The Business Analyst acquired will have the responsibility of serving as a liaison between Revenue Accounting, Business Technology Office, and IT staff for the Motor Fuel Distribution Rewrite & Supplemental Return Processing project and provide Business Process knowledge to the Revenue Accounting process to facilitate the daily Revenue Accounting tasks, functions and knowledge transfer.This position will also be responsible Standard Non CSP Contract Template (revised 2/1/22) 4 for:
  • Corporate Income Tax XML Schema maintenance.
  • Reemployment 8A Schema analysis
  • Motor Fuel and other tax XML maintenance, enhancements, analyses.
Minimum Experience and Knowledge Requirements for Functional Resource(s):
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
o Supporting XML Applications o Building supporting schemas as needed using XPath Document o Using XMLSpy
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The applicant(s) must have sufficient knowledge, understanding and experience with the Revenue Accounting process and Motor Fuel Distribution within DOR. Other knowledge, skills and abilities desired include:
  • Knowledge of Department of Revenue’s SUNTAX system.
  • Knowledge of State of Florida accounting policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including one or more of the following: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in auditing, reviewing, reconciling or analyzing data for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining a variety of accurate and complete accounting reports.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-passed environment and manage completing deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to identify problems, generates and evaluates alternative solutions, and makes recommendations.
  • Ability to work well independently yet works cohesively within the section to maintain internal control measures.
Education/CertificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Preference will also be given to applicants with that have experience working with a State MeF XML Project or have worked with National Standards whether Government or Industrial.
